In this study, we examined the impact of football tactics and players' skill on goal scoring at FC Porto. We analyzed data from a total of 15 games played by the team during the 2019-2020 season.
Our analysis revealed that the number of shots taken per game had a significant effect on the team's performance. Specifically, we found that teams with more shots tended to score more goals than those with fewer shots. This suggests that effective shot-taking is crucial for achieving high scores in football.
Furthermore, our analysis also showed that the tactical approach adopted by the team was also important in determining their success. For example, teams that employed a defensive strategy were less likely to score than those who used an attacking approach. This indicates that the team's tactical approach can have a significant impact on their performance and ultimately their ability to score goals.
We also looked at the role of individual player skills in influencing goal scoring. Our results suggested that players with better technical abilities were more likely to score goals than those with weaker skills. This highlights the importance of investing in developing young talent with strong technical skills.
Overall, our findings suggest that effective shot-taking and strategic planning are key factors in improving a team's goal-scoring ability. By focusing on these areas, teams can improve their chances of winning matches and increasing their overall performance.
